We’re inviting you to nominate a veteran\, active military member\, or reservist who continues to lead\, serve\, inspire\, and make a difference beyond the uniform. Share their story and help us celebrate the impact they make every day. \nThe recipient will receive an Island Appreciation Prize featuring: \n\n😎 Complimentary cabana rental\n🌮 Without A Paddle Cafe food tickets\n🍺 24 Budweisers\n🛶 Two kayak rentals\n\n\nNominate your hero on our Facebook post: https://bit.ly/wekivalocalhero \n\n\n\nNominations are open through June 29. A winner will be selected by the Wekiva Island Local Hero Committee\, comprised of active-duty\, reserve\, and veteran military members of the Wekiva Island family. The recipient will be notified in advance and publicly announced and honored during the Red\, White & Blue Semiquincentennial Ball on Thursday\, July 2.\n–\nDon’t Forget: Military Appreciation: Veterans and active military attendees are invited to receive a complimentary weekday canoe\, kayak\, or paddleboard rental voucher valid through the end of 2026. Vouchers must be picked up in person during the July 2 event. Limited to the first 100 recipients. Proof of military service is required. Limit one voucher per person.
