DESCRIPTION:May 16 th from 5:30 to 7:30pm \n$10\nPeter is demonstrating oil painting. \nBio\nPeter Pettegrew grew up around Monterey Bay\, California. He started\ndrawing at age four and by the age of 10\, was studying with the old\nmarine painters in the Bay area. His formal art education began when\nhe applied and gained admission to the Harbor Senior High School\,\nwhich was a progressive school dedicated to advancing the\ndevelopment of artistic skills and creative freedom. After moving to\nFlorida\, Peter attended the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale to study\ngraphic arts and painting. He continued his studies by taking private\nworkshops in several mediums\, including oil painting. Finding his\ninspiration through detailed research of the Master Impressionists and\nplein air painters of the 19th century\, this work revealed the undeniable\ncourse of his life; “to honor the face of nature by painting her portrait in\nso many ways and in so many places. Through painting\, I share my love\nof nature with others and hopefully help to preserve her beauty.”

DESCRIPTION:Join us for an Artist Demo featuring Brian & Debbie Miller. \nJune 20\, 2024 5:30-7:30PM\n$10 per person\, with one glass of wine per person. \n  \n  \n               \n  \nDebbie Miller’s Bio: \nDebbie is a late-bloomer when it comes to painting — though her\nfriends & family would probably say that she has always bloomed in\nother creative ways – making beautiful spaces\, offering hospitality\,\ndesigning colorful and tasty meals\, and dabbling in a variety of\ncrafts that let her amass shamefully huge stashes of yarn\, fabric\, and\nmixed media art supplies over the years. \nDebbie’s journey into painting really began in March 2016\, when she\nwas introduced to the Daily Painting Movement. She discovered – at 58\nyears old – that if you practice something every day\, you really do\nget better (and have more fun). Debbie and Brian (her husband and\ncreativity co-conspirator) were hooked! Now they can’t imagine their\nlives without this rich discipline. \nIn addition to her personal artistic practice\, Debbie has a heart for\nhelping people discover the ways in which they are creative and take\nsteps forward in expressing that creativity. She believes that art is\na source of joy\, beauty and delight. But it is also a sacred\nstoryteller that can help us heal and grow as individuals and\ncommunities. \nShe and Brian developed They Make Art University\, a learning platform\ndedicated to offering high-quality online and in-person art education\nto artists at all levels of experience and confidence. \nThough she retired from her licensed mental health counseling practice\nin April 2023\, Debbie continues to provide soul care through creative\ndepth coaching\, expressive art workshops\, and individual and group\nspiritual direction. \nBrian Miller Bio: \nBrian has been an artist all his life\, but it’s only after he became\npart of the Daily Painting Movement in 2016 that he freely identified\nhimself as a painter. \nHe holds BFAs in animation and film-making from The University of the\nArts in Philadelphia\, PA and spent the early part of his professional\ncareer as a graphic artist\, art director\, interactive graphics\ndesigner\, instructional designer\, and web designer and developer. In\nthe process\, he taught himself programming\, and now works full-time as\nan IT systems administrator. \nThis shift in focus from artistic to technical work freed up his\ncreative energy for developing his personal art. Now he paints daily\nwith a bold\, intuitive style and a sense of whimsy. He is also\npursuing his passion for helping others find their artistic voice and\ndevelop systems that will support their creative endeavors. He is an\nAdjunct Faculty member of The Crealdé School of Art in Winter Park\,\nFL\, and offers online art education classes and individual mentoring.\nHe is also part of Olga Furman’s Paint Your Heart and Soul artist\ncollective. \nBrian lives in Orlando and feels grateful for being part of his local\nart community as well as the global community available through social\nmedia. His work is held in private collections in three continents\,\nand is part of the permanent collection of the Arts Council of\nJackson/Butts County\, Georgia.
