DESCRIPTION:Each year\, Wekiva Island plays host to the Wekiva Paint Out\, where dozens of artists paint for a week in “plein air” – out in the open. Their inspiration? Beautiful Wekiva Island\, the Wekiva River and the Wekiwa Springs State park of course. All proceeds benefit the Wekiva Wilderness Trust and Keep Seminole Beautiful. DESCRIPTION:Female alligators are devoted moms. \nFemale alligators build nests made of vegetation\, sticks\, leaves\, and mud near a body of water. As the vegetation decays\, it heats up and keeps the eggs warm. She stays near the nest throughout the 65-day incubation period\, protecting it from intruders. When the eggs are ready to hatch\, the young alligators make high-pitched noises from inside their eggs. This causes their mother to start digging them out of the nest and carrying her babies down to the water in her jaws. She may protect her young for up to a year.

DESCRIPTION:What is Oxybenzone? Is it REEF SAFE?\n\n\n\nOxybenzone is a widely used sunscreen ingredient around the world. It is approved and recommended by the FDA and Skin Cancer Foundation as an effective sunscreen and has been used for over 25 years in combination with other sunscreen actives to help cover the broad spectrum of UV rays. \nThat said\, a few years ago an American study came out showing that Oxybenzone may be a contributing factor to the bleaching/killing of our ocean reefs. While the study is highly contested by the corporate sunscreen community\, we decided to start reformulating all of our products to remove this ingredient. There was just no way Sun Bum could take the chance of hurting the living and breathing reefs that create the waves we surf on…not to mention our little fishy friends we love.
