It’s the most wonderful time of the year again, and everyone is making a list and checking it twice…a list of the best Orlando Christmas and holiday events, that is!

There’s always so much to do this time of year, from family parties and decorating the tree to trips to see Santa and holiday shopping. There are also so many awesome local events around the holidays in Orlando. It can be hard to pick what to do.

At Wekiva Island, we absolutely love this time of year. Our fan-favorite event, Winter Wonderland, takes over the Island and provides a month of holiday fun. It’s so much fun, in fact, that we’ve got something going on every day until Christmas.

Here are our top Orlando Christmas events at Wekiva Island, so you can make sure they’re on your calendar.

Kick off the season at our Tree Lighting Ceremony

Every year, we light up the night with our dazzling, sparkling Christmas Tree Forest. In fact, our 30-foot Christmas Tree is the centerpiece of Winter Wonderland! To officially kick off the season, we light the tree for the first time with a special ceremony. This year, it takes place at 7 p.m. Dec. 2, 2022. Santa and Mrs. Claus do the honors while our “snow” flurries blow through the Florida air. It’s a sight not to miss! This display is among the best holidays lights in Orlando.

Make memories at Breakfast with Santa

Families have many choices for where they can see Santa and deliver that all-important wish list…but no one does Florida-style quite like Wekiva Island! At our event, you can soak up the beautiful Florida weather near the Orlando springs, dining riverside. This year, you can join us Dec. 10, 2022. We’re serving a breakfast buffet with made-to-order omelets, pancakes, bacon, biscuits and gravy and so much more. Plus, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there to help your family make some special memories. Tickets are $17.95 for adults and $12.95 for kids 10 and under. You can get yours here.

Celebrate in style at our VIP Party

We’re sure there are no shortage of Orlando holiday events and parties already on your social calendar. But this is one you don’t want to miss. At Wekiva Island, we really pull out all the stops to cap off our Winter Wonderland celebration with our VIP Party. This year’s event takes place Dec. 17, 2022. This party offers the chance to eat, drink and be merry with unlimited beverages, bites and unbeatable Florida ambiance. Tickets are $70 for singles and $120 for couples. Get yours here.

Meet the Grinch watch the movie come to life

Is your holiday spirit a little more “humbug” than “hoorah”? Come down to Wekiva Island on Dec. 18, 2022 and commiserate with the original Grinch himself, live and in person! The Grinch will be visiting along with Cindy Lou Who and the Whoville elves, and he is the real deal! This is always one of our most popular Winter Wonderland events.

Cozy up with an outdoor movie

Speaking of “The Grinch,” we’re showing all your holiday favorites under the stars and in our Christmas Tree Forest all season. Join us every Sunday at 7 p.m. to see classics like “The Polar Express,” “A Christmas Carol” and “The Grinch” on the big screen. Of course, no movie is complete without popcorn and hot cocoa, and we’ll have them for purchase. Bring your blankets and chairs and settle in for a perfect holiday night.
