This Saturday, Wekiva Island will be closed until 5:00 p.m. for our annual Fall Egg Fest. We’d love for you to join the fun—grab your ticket and be part of the festivities. After 5:00 p.m., the Island will reopen and welcome guests as usual.
If you know Wekiva Island, you know we love a party. While we’re always down for a good time, a few times a year, we go all out with some fun adult and family friendly events. Often, our guests love these events so much, they make them a yearly tradition.
As we enter 2024, we already have so much to look forward to. Here are just a few of the 2024 Wekiva Island events we’ve got planned so you can mark your calendar.
We think of the Wekiva Paint Out as the official start of the season at Wekiva Island. This event brings in world-class artists from around the country to paint en plein air—that is, outside around the beautiful Wekiva River—creating incredible works of art all week. It also includes a thrilling live art auction and a fun all-inclusive Gala. You can mingle with the artists and watch them work, plus tour our gallery as it fills up throughout the week. All the pieces are for sale, and proceeds support two nonprofits that help protect the river! This is the 18th year for the event, which will run Feb. 26 to March 2.
Sustainability is at our core here at Wekiva Island, so it just makes sense that Earth Day would be one of our favorite days of the year. Last year, we really blew it out of the water with expert talks, a special river clean up, fun sustainability activities and more. This year, it’s going to be EVEN BIGGER. We can’t wait to share our mission with you all as we all find deeper connections to Mother Earth on Friday, April 19. Keep an eye out for more info soon!
Wekiva Island’s birthday is Sept. 30, and every year, we celebrate with the Kona Luau! This year, we’re turning Sweet 16. This event always includes some fun contests, like a limbo and hula hoop contest, great specials on Kona Brewing beer, and even live fire dancers. It’s a celebration of everything we love about the Island life, so be sure to join us.
Every Hallow-weekend, we go all out with the ultimate bash. This fun party includes an epic costume contest for the adults. Every year, we are absolutely amazed at the creativity, and the top individuals and top group take home some serious cash and Wekiva Island prizes. We’ll be bringing it back and better than ever this October.
At Wekiva Island, the month of December is truly the most wonderful time of the year! In 2023, we were thrilled to debut the very special Santa’s Workshop. It brought us so much joy to see the little faces of our guests experience the magic of the season as they met with Santa and Mrs. Claus and discovered secrets in Santa’s office and Mrs. Claus’ bakery. With snow flurries, special guests, the dazzling Christmas Tree Forest and more, 2023 will be hard to top…but we will certainly try in 2024!
