Wekiva Partners

Giving back is in our DNA at Wekiva Island, and we aim to make strategic partnerships and donations that have an impact on both our local community and the planet. Our partnerships play a pivotal role in amplifying our impact and we’re grateful for the like-minded organizations who join hands with us in this shared pursuit of sustainability, art, and education and leaving a lasting legacy.

Central Florida Zoo

Animal Conservation

We have been longtime supporters of our Seminole County neighbors at the Central Florida Zoo through sponsorship of their events, like Brews Around the Zoo, and through our leadership members serving on the Zoo’s board.

We love the river and its animal residents, and we’re dedicated to keeping it a healthy habitat. For that reason, we’ve also partnered with the Zoo to sponsor their River Otter Habitat. The Zoo’s mission of conservation is fully in line with our own, and we are proud of this partnership.

O-Town Compost

Compost Center

Community and sustainability have always been woven into the fabric of who we are at Wekiva Island. Now, we’re growing our commitment to both with our new Community Compost Center—Wekiva Blooms C³. In our continual search to minimize our waste and turn it into something good, we’ve partnered with O-Town Compost to compost scraps from Without a Paddle Cafe to keep them out of the landfill and create valuable fertilizer, so more good can grow.

Audubon Society

Protecting Habitats

The Audubon Center for Birds of Prey helps care for and rehabilitate birds of prey that are sick or injured and release them back into the wild. They also fight to protect their habitats. Their mission goes hand-in-hand with our own and for that reason Wekiva Island donates 100 percent of all rentals from the Island’s Audubon Cabana to the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey to help continue its great work and meaningful efforts.

Audubon Center for Birds of Prey awarded us the Partners in Conservation Award for 2020.

Social Responsibility

We do it for our love of the planet and all things good. Wekiva Island puts its philanthropic efforts at the top of our strategic priorities and partners with changemakers in the community. In fact, we care about so many things that our Board proactively maps out our strategic plan for each year’s giving annually. We all can make a difference — just one step at a time.
