Bring Your Own
Launches
Looking to launch your own canoe, kayak, paddleboard or large inflatable? We charge $10 per vessel on weekdays and $20 on weekends. Want to launch your own boat (25 HP or less)? The fee is $10 on weekdays and $50 on weekends due to river traffic. If you would like to park your car at Wekiva Island and self-shuttle to another location on the river, it is $25, and the vehicle must be removed by closing time, which varies. Please note: dogs cannot accompany guests on vessels.
White Sand
Volleyball
Volleyball is a favorite group activity at the Island. Our regulation-size sand volleyball court is located behind our main building and is available for groups to reserve. We have bleachers for friends or bystanders to cheer on their team – whether you’re playing competitively or for just your own recreation. Time may be limited or matches may rotate to accommodate other guest reservations.
Jump In
Swimming
What better way to cool off than to jump in the river? Wekiva River remains a constant 72 degrees all year round, and guests are welcome to enjoy swimming along the boardwalk area or in other designated swimming locations along the river. Outside floats are welcome. Large floats will be charged a small fee. Please note: There are no lifeguards on duty, and no diving is permitted from anywhere along the boardwalk. This is a natural Florida River & wildlife is present.
Cast Away
Fishing
The Wekiva River is well known for its fishing and is filled with a variety of fish. Fishing is not allowed from our shores as there is too much human activity. However, guests are encouraged to bring their own bait and tackle and the cast from boats, canoes, kayaks or paddleboards.
