ORLANDO, Fla. (Sept. 13, 2024) — Central Florida has dozens of ways to celebrate the holidays, but if you want to do it in true Florida fashion, there’s only one choice—Winter Wonderland at Wekiva Island. The riverside attraction will be decking the halls—and the palm trees, and the boardwalk—from Dec. 1-25.

The event has been delivering on the holiday spirit for nine years now, with thousands of twinkling lights, festive holiday décor, and daily “snow” flurries. This year, the immersive Santa’s Workshop experience will return, bringing new events guests can enjoy.
“Seeing the joy on kids’ faces last year as they explored Santa’s Workshop and shared their holiday wishes was nothing short of magical,” said Carrie Vanderhoef, Wekiva Island manager. “We’re so excited to bring it back this year and build on it with even more events guests can experience with us to make it the most wonderful time of the year.”
The Workshop, which takes up residence in the Island’s upstairs art gallery, Gallery CERO, is fully decorated and bursting with Christmas cheer. The space features multiple photo opps, as well as the chance to explore Mrs. Claus’ bakery and Santa’s office. It’s also where guests can meet the big man himself every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Also returning is the dazzling Christmas Tree Forest and 30-foot-tall tree that serves as the centerpiece. Winter Wonderland will kick off with the tree lighting at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1. Other events include:
- Breakfast with Santa—Make some memories and meet Santa at one of the most unique locations on the banks of the Wekiva River. There are two weekends for this extremely popular event this year. 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 8 and 15. $19.95 for children, $29.95 for adults.

In the spirit of giving, Wekiva Island will support Kids House of Seminole throughout the season. Guests can bring new, unwrapped toys to the Island from Nov. 28 to Dec. 15. Those who bring a toy from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 5 and 12 will get free entry to Santa’s Workshop.
The Island elves will also provide free gift wrapping for all presents brought to the Island from 4 to 8 p.m. Dec. 17 and 19, so guests can kick back, enjoy a beverage and let the work be done for them.
