The weather is getting (slightly) cooler, and spirits are bright. There’s no denying that the holidays are right around the corner here in Florida! And for those looking to celebrate, there are no shortage of Orlando Christmas events to choose from.
Our favorite? Wekiva Island’s Winter Wonderland, of course. Our yearly celebration transforms your favorite local watering hole into a holiday haven, complete with thousands of twinkling lights, a Christmas Tree Forest and 30-foot tree, and Santa’s Workshop. We absolutely pack the calendar with merry fun from Dec. 1-25.
There’s always something to do during Winter Wonderland, but here are a few Orlando Christmas events at Wekiva Island
Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
Light up the season with us! We officially kick off our holiday events on Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. with the lighting of our Christmas Tree Forest and stunning 30-foot Christmas tree by none other than Santa and Mrs. Claus themselves. Bring the family and enjoy our Orlando Christmas lights, holiday cheer, and fun together. Don’t forget to bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to Kids House of Seminole to make the season bright for local children! And extend the fun with a stop at Santa’s Workshop, which will be open after the ceremony until 9 p.m.
Breakfast with Santa
Looking for some one-on-one time with Santa? Bring the kids out to our super popular Breakfast with Santa! We truly believe our riverside location makes this one of the most unique Orlando Breakfast with Santa events. In fact, it’s so popular that we added a second chance to join us this year! Grab tickets to come out from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 8 or Dec. 15. Enjoy an absolutely delicious breakfast buffet, time with Santa, and tons of other holiday festivities. Just don’t forget to grab your tickets! They go fast.
The Grinch & Friends Visit
If you might make the naughty list, this Winter Wonderland event is for you. The Grinch, Cindy Lou Who and the Whoville Elves will make a stop at Wekiva Island from 2 to 6 p.m. Dec. 15. This is the real deal, and it’s always one of the most popular days to visit! Get into the holiday spirit with some playful antics. Then, at 7 p.m., enjoy an outdoor screening of The Grinch and learn the true meaning of Christmas.
Stories with Mrs. Claus
This season, we are happy to fill up your calendar with Christmas things to do in Orlando that will help you and the family make memories together. A perfect example? Stories with Mrs. Claus! Cozy up with a cup of hot cocoa and a cookie as Mrs. Claus reads Christmas favorites. This event takes place every Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. through Dec. 18, and tickets are only $10. Love the idea? We also have Ornament Decorating with Elves and Reindeer Feed Making events for the littlest believers.
At Wekiva Island, this truly is the most wonderful time of the year. We love to see the joy on the faces of visitors young and old as they discover holiday magic with us at these Orlando Christmas events at Wekiva Island. While these are some of our favorites, there’s no bad time to visit Wekiva Island’s Winter Wonderland! Check out the full schedule here, and make your plans.
