ORLANDO, Fla. (Aug. 5, 2025) — Get ready to raise a paddle. Paddleboard Orlando is celebrating a sweet 16 years on the water, and Wekiva Island is going all out in honor.

The Seminole County eco-attraction is throwing a birthday party for PBO from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Aug. 7. The night will honor Wekiva Island’s River Ambassador and PBO founder Ned Johnson. Johnson is the host of tourism leader Do Orlando North’s new travel series, ON BOARD—and the series will be screened at the event. ON BOARD showcases Seminole County’s iconic and unexpected waterways, from paddleboarding to fly fishing.

There will also be a Q&A with the local tour operators and partners featured in the series as well as complimentary river rides from Wekiva Wild. Wine, hors d’oeuvres and beer provided by Wayne Densch will be available, and attendees have the chance to win prizes.

The celebration will take place in Gallery CERO, the riverside art gallery at Wekiva Island.

Paddleboard Orlando has been providing tours through Central Florida and introducing guests to the wonders of nature and the fun of paddleboarding since 2010. Wekiva Island acquired the company earlier this year.
