In 2015 nationally, the composting of food rose from 1.94 million tons in 2014 (5% food)

to 2.10 million tons in 2015 (5.3% food!)

Why should you compost?

Compost returns valuable nutrients to the soil to help maintain soil quality and fertility.

Compost is a mild, slow release, natural fertilizer that won’t burn plants like chemical fertilizers. … Provides organic matter and nutrients which will improve plant growth and lead to better yields.

    Winter Wonderland is back again, and we’re excited to celebrate the festive season all December long. In addition to our well-loved activities like daily “snow” flurries, the Christmas tree forest and our 24-ft tall tree, and visits from your favorite Christmas characters, Santa is inviting all the good boys and girls for the first time ever to his Workshop, right here at Wekiva Island.
