Florida’s Fascinating Wildlife – Past and Present talk with Don Philpott
When dinosaurs ruled the rest of North America, Florida was still deep under water, but it had its own giant sea monsters. Then, when we finally emerged from the sea, giant land creatures roamed – mammoths, lions, tigers, and even Florida rhinoceroses! Learn more about these critters and what led to their extinction some 12,000 years ago and what took their place.
Today, Florida has a greater diversity of animals, birds, and plants than any other part of North America. It stretches from temperate to sub-tropical climates and has scores of different habitats which attract this wide range of flora and fauna. Come and explore this wonderful wildlife with us and learn more about it
