Enjoy live music in The Tooting Otter with Cat Ridgeway!
Hailing from Orlando, Florida, Cat Ridgeway is a skilled songwriter who can write in any genre. Cat’s eclectic, soulful style shines through her ability to play guitar and harmonica, trumpet, trombone, drums, piano, and bass.
In the last year alone, Cat has established herself as a true up-and-comer. She and her band opened the main stage at Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival for Trombone Shorty, Arcade Fire, Leon Bridges, Local Natives, and Lil Dicky, and just months later went on to their debut performance at the House of Blues Orlando to an extremely responsive crowd. As a solo act, Cat also played the Wire and Wood Alpharetta Songwriters Festival with the likes of Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Justin Townes Earle, Dan Wilson (of Semisonic), and Glenn Phillips (of Toad the Wet Sprocket) where she quickly became a crowd favorite. A foreshadow to this year’s success, Cat won indie rock duo Tegan and Sara’s world wide cover contest in 2016.
Cat’s project “Passenger Seat” was the direct result of her overfunded Kickstarter campaign “Cat Goes to Nashville”. She had the privilege of working with the likes of Gordon Kennedy (co-writer of “Change the World” recorded by Eric Clapton) and many other seasoned Nashville players on the EP. Cat’s most recent single “Whiskey Lullabies” was recorded at Ardent Studios in Memphis, TN and features Gregg Allman’s horn section.
Although it ultimately didn’t make the final cut, Cat’s debut album “On a Windy Day” features the title track originally written for the major motion picture, “Bernie” starring Jack Black, Shirley MacLaine and Matthew McConaughey. Cat has lent her voice to many notable causes including Tunes for Tots, Make A Wish Foundation, and Hospice of the Comforter. She is also highly sought after by advertising agencies to sing radio jingles and commercials.
