Our Carbon Footprint

September 26, 2018 @ 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Part of our carbon footprint at Wekiva Island includes the carbon you release on your travel here and back home.

As you are aware, Wekiva Island counts the number of guests that visit during our peak times. Based on that information we have estimated that over 21,000 vehicles visit us each year. We have estimated and calculated that the trips to and from here by those vehicles contribute to approximately 190 metric tons of carbon in our atmosphere. Your $1 admission fee in part helps us to pay to offset this carbon release.
