ORLANDO, Fla. (September 6, 2023) — Florida might be the Sunshine State, but Wekiva Island is bringing the Aloha spirit in September with the return of its beloved Kona Luau.
The Luau will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, at Wekiva Island. Guests should don their favorite Hawaiian shirt for this trip to the “islands” to close out summer.
Festivities kick off at 7 p.m. with a hula hoop contest. Then, at 7:30 p.m., prepare to be dazzled by a live performance by fire dancers. Immediately after, guests who want to show how low they can go can enter the limbo contest.
There will also be $25 buckets of Kona Big Wave and $4 Big Wave drafts, as well as giveaways and décor to set the vibe for the night. The annual event celebrates the season and honors Wekiva Island’s anniversary; this is the 15th year for the Central Florida favorite.
“This is one of our favorite events every year,” said Carrie Vanderhoef, manager. “It’s a fun way to send off summer and to mark another great year at Wekiva Island. You can’t miss the fire dancers!”
Admission to Wekiva Island is $5, but the event is free. Tickets are not required.
