Event Description
Celebrate Earth Day at Wekiva Island with a relaxed, creative experience led by local artist Peter Pettegrew. This session is designed as a watercolor journaling introduction rather than a formal workshop making it perfect for beginners and curious creatives alike.
Guests will start with a casual group conversation to explore the idea of keeping a watercolor journal, followed by simple, guided nature studies like painting small flowers and organic forms inspired by Wekiva Island’s surroundings. The goal is to spark creativity and give participants the confidence to continue their journaling practice long after they leave.
All materials are provided, and no prior art experience is necessary.
Come unwind, connect with nature, and leave with both a keepsake and a new creative habit.

Meet the Artist
Petter Pettegrew is a landscape artist devoted to capturing the timeless beauty of nature and serves as Artist in Residence at Gallery CERO at Wekiva Island. Inspired by his childhood along Monterey Bay, California, he began sketching ocean scenes at an early age and was studying with a marine painter by just ten years old. He later refined his craft at Harbor High School in Santa Cruz and the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, expanding into painting and printmaking. Influenced by the Master Impressionists and plein air traditions, his work reflects a lifelong dedication to light, atmosphere, and the natural world.
