The Wekiva River has earned the Designation of Wild and Scenic. Wild Rivers represent vestiges of primitive America. They have natural shorelines, unpollutedwaters and are free owing. Scenic Rivers are still largely primitive with shorelines mostly undeveloped but accessible in places by roads.
